Pawtuckaway Beekeepers Association has developed an educational grant program called the “James Kuhn Beekeeper Education Grant”

History:  James Kuhn was a Goffstown, NH beekeeper for over 40 years and a long-standing member of PBA.  Upon his passing on October 7, 2018, his family requested that in lieu of flowers, Jim be remembered by a donation made to PBA in his memory.  Monies collected were to be used for beekeeper education.

Qualifications for Grant Application:

  • Applicant must be an active member of PBA in good standing and must submit a completed Grant Application to the Education Committee Chair or the Vice President.
  • Grant award funds must be used for beekeeper education such as Master beekeeper courses, Queen rearing classes, EAS annual meeting, weekend, or day-long intensives with renowned beekeepers.
  • A willingness to share whatever knowledge is gleaned from the course or workshop.  Such knowledge sharing may be accomplished via informal or formal workshops presented at a PBA monthly meeting or other functions.  Presentations may be done by an individual or a group.

Determinations: The PBA Education Chair and Vice President oversee The James Kuhn Beekeeper Education Grant.  All submitted applications are reviewed by them and those recommended for approval are forwarded to the Officers of the Club for final approval. All decisions are final.
